Cocktail Anyone? Includes Death, Reagan and Mt Whitney : Jeff Harris

“I decided to design a $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bill only and to use five figures on the face of each: George Washington, who represents the 18th Century, Abraham Lincoln, who represents the 19th century, FDR, who represents the early 20th century, Ronald Reagan, who represents the late 20th century, and Benjamin Franklin, who represents the creative, historic, and intellectual side of America.

Jefferson (who was against the use of banknotes), Jackson (who was against the treasury in the first place), and Grant were strange choices, and the latter two have no resonance with modern American. Also, I wanted to expand the landscapes beyond Washington, DC and more towards a look at American places like Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, and California's highest and lowest points such as Mt. Whitney and Death Valley, respectively.”
