America Today : Mark Gartland : Dollar ReDe$ign 2010

"Although the cosmetic drabness of the currency is apparent, what is more distressing is that it ignores the country that America has become. In an attempt to bring the currency into the present I've selected American icons and their famous quotes to illustrate the diverse fabric that is the US today. The quotes are inspirational and attempt to define the qualities of present day America. Most importantly, the photographic quality brings the currency into the modern era. Each bill has a watermark in the broad white stripe and metallic and holographic stamps to deter counterfeiting."
1 Dollar: Featuring Sitting Bull (Tatanka Iotanka) - 'Let us put our minds together and see what kind of life we can make for our children.'
5 Dollar: Featuring Abraham Lincoln - 'As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.'
10 Dollar: Featuring John F. Kennedy - 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.'
20 Dollar: Featuring Barack Obama - 'Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference.'
50 Dollar: Featuring Sakajawea - 'Everything I did, I did for my people.'
