"My inspiration (like most of my work) was boredom. I had nothing to do at work so I started to jot down ideas. After finding a great drawing of Ben Franklin (as well as his signature) and a nice shot of the Liberty Bell, I was ready to start. Originally, I was going to go with something multi-colored like the Australian Dollar or Japanese Yen, but I decided against it. I kept the money green because it's a color synonymous with money in America. Instead, I opted for a crisp 'money green' with hints of gold, orange, and violet. While doing this project I learned the name for the loops are 'g
uilloche.' I must have been absent the day they taught that in class."
